GPIC supports MEPEC 2015

Manama, Sept. 18 (BNA): The Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) supported the Third Middle East Process Engineering Conference and Exhibition (MEPEC 2015), held from September 15 to 17. The support came on the directives of company Chairman and Adviser to His Royal Highness the Prime Minister on Oil and Industrial Affairs Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa. The conference was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who delegated Energy Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza, to open the three-day event, attended by more than 600 delegates from the GCC and regional states along with experts from across the world. Around 100 exhibitors also took part in the accompanying exhibition. In a statement, GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery said holding such a specialized conference in the field of process engineering in Bahrain is testimony to the development of the industry as a result of the support of the leadership and the government. He said the government had ensured all obstacles and hindrances, if any, were ironed out to make the conference a great success. Dr. Jawahery said the latest technology in the field of process engineering was on show at the conference, which was a valuable opportunity for the participants to meet and exchange vies on the current and emerging technologies in the process engineering field. Dr. Jawahery pointed out that the conference was very well organised and received praise from the participants, delegates and visitors. He said this was not surprising since Bahrain has been hosting international events of a high calibre for the last many years. He said such events also serve to give youngsters the necessary experience in the field and where they could come face to face with the latest developments. Dr. Jawahery thanked Shaikh Isa bin Ali for his guidance and support and said this was an important event because it attracted professionals and investors and introduced them to investment opportunities in Bahrain. He also thanked Dr. Mirza and organising committee chairman Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, who is also National Oil and Gas Authority Chief Executive Officer. The conference was held on the theme, Delivering Process Efficiency through Innovation and Value Creation. Its objective was to create a forum to facilitate the exchange of practical experiences in all aspects of process engineering in addition to seeking solutions to the various challenges that process engineers face.
