HRH Crown Prince chairs meeting

Manama, Sept. 15 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister today chaired the meeting of the High Committee for Natural Resources and Economic Security, at Gudaibiya Palace. His Royal Highness emphasised that preserving and investing in Bahrain’s oil and gas sector is a national priority and key to sustainable economic development in the Kingdom. His Royal Highness went on to acknowledge the many successes of the Kingdom’s economic diversification strategy and highlighted the need to continue to develop new approaches to long-term sustainable development, especially in the energy sector. The Committee then received a presentation by the Minister of Energy, His Excellency Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza and the Chief Executive of Nogaholding and Chairman of Bahrain Petroleum Company, Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa on the status of major oil and gas exploration projects in the Kingdom. His Royal Highness praised the Ministry for its efforts in strengthening the Kingdom’s energy sector and underscored the need to further develop strategic energy projects to meet the needs of all Bahrain’s citizens and residents. The High Committee for Natural Resources and Economic Security was established by Royal Decree in 2013 and is chaired by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.
