Mottaki deplores International community's inaction on Gaza

Tehran, Dec 30, IRNA - Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said on Tuesday that the international community is not serious about the Gaza tragedy, deploring inaction to stop the Israeli crimes against humanity.

In a meeting with Algerian Minister Delegate for Maghreb and African
Affairs Abdelkader Messahel, Mottaki said that Algeria has been a
pioneer in defending the Palestinians' rights.

He made the remarks referring to the telephone conversation between
the two countries' presidents and foreign ministers on Israeli heinous
crimes in Gaza Strip.

"The Western countries have closed their eyes on violation of human
rights in Gaza but they exaggerate the trivial things," Mottaki added.

Referring to the financial crisis in world, he urged cooperation
between the independent countries to tackle it.

Mottaki added that Iran and Algeria enjoy considerable potentials for
economic cooperation.

Mentioning Iran's trade ties with the world countries despite the
imposed sanctions, Mottaki noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has
turned the sanctions to an opportunity for economic boom.

The Algerian official, for his part, said that the meeting between the
two countries's presidents four months ago paved the way for boosting
bilateral ties.

Messahel added that Algeria is willing to foster ties with the Islamic
Republic of Iran.
