Iran-China ties strategic, significant: Chinese official

Tehran, Dec 30, IRNA - Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Zhai Jun described Tehran-Beijing ties as strategic and underlined expansion bilateral relations.


In a meeting Iran's deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Mehdi
Akhoundzadeh, he referred to the resolve of the two countries' leaders
to develop ties and said that they favor strengthening relations in
economic, commercial, educational as well as increasing exchanges.

Characterizing Iran's role in solving regional crises as significant,
Zhai Jun thanked Iran for its stance on regional issues.

He pointed to the massacre of defenseless Gazans and said that Israeli
attack on the Gaza Strip has caused a shock in international
community. The incidents have concerned all of us, he added.

China took part in United Nations Security Council's meeting on Gaza
and will support joint statement issued following the session.
