S. Korea's industrial output plunges 14.1 pct in Nov.
SEOUL, Dec. 30 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's industrial output fell at the fastest rate ever in November amid growing concerns that anemic domestic demand and exports could drag the nation's economy into a recession, a government report showed Tuesday.
According to the report by the National Statistical Office (NSO), industrial
production shrank 14.1 percent last month from a year earlier, further slumping
from a 2.3 percent on-year decline in October. This marked the sharpest fall in
history since related data started to be compiled in January 1970.
The November figure is far below a median estimate of a 5.5 percent slide in a
poll conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial news arm of Yonhap News Agency.
