Deputy King meets Italian Ambassador

Manama, Sep 9 (BNA): Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, today met the Italian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Alberto Vecchi, at Riffa Palace. His Royal Highness highlighted that his recent meeting with the Italian Prime Minster, Matteo Renzi, reflects the commitment of Bahrain and Italy to bolstering cooperation across all levels. His Royal Highness emphasised the role of bilateral visits in expanding cooperation between the two countries across various sectors. His Royal Highness went on to add that the Kingdom’s recent participation in the Expo Milano 2015 further reflects Bahrain's commitment to supporting sustainable economic development and the strength of Bahraini-Italian ties. The meeting also presented an opportunity to discuss wider regional affairs, including the international coalition’s efforts to counter extremism across the region. In this regard, His Royal Highness reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to combatting extremist ideologies in order to achieve long-term stability across the region. The Italian Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to meet with His Royal Highness, and stressed his commitment to supporting the advancement of bilateral cooperation between Italy and Bahrain.
