NIHR VP meets Moroccan Justice Minister

Rabat, Sept. 8 (BNA): The National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR)'s Vice President, Abdullah Ahmed Al Derazi, met Moroccan Justice Minister El Mustapha Ramid, on the sidelines of his visit to Morocco's capital, Rabat, as part of team of Arab Network of Human Rights Institutions monitoring local elections in Morocco Kingdom. The minister presented to NIHR's VP Al Derazi a copy of the press release issued by the Arab Network on the election monitoring outcomes. The minister praised the Moroccan Human Rights Council's invitation to the Arab Network to partake in monitoring the elections in his country, lauding the important role undertaken by human rights national institutions in the Arab world in boosting and protecting human rights. The National Institution's vice president conveyed to the Moroccan Justice Minister the compliments of NIHR's Chief of Commissioners' Board, Dr. Abdulaziz Abul, on the success of recent local elections, wishing Morocco further advancement and prosperity. The minister was briefed by Al Derazi about the work mechanism of the National Institution of Human Rights and the role undertaken by the members of the Board of Commissioners and the Institution's goals as per Law 26/2014 in boosting and protecting human rights in Bahrain.
