Information Minister receives Bahraini Ambassador to Belgium

Manama, Sept. 7 (BNA): Information Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi said the empowerment of Bahraini women politically and economically and their ability to prove their worth by taking up executive and legislative posts and reaching an advanced status regionally and internationally reflects the civilisational image of the pioneering reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He was speaking as he received today Bahraini Ambassador to Belgium Dr. Bahia Jawad Al-Jishi. He took pride in the pivotal role of Bahraini women in fast-tracking political and constitutional reform as well as sustainable development. He paid tribute to Bahraini women for their key contributions to the press, media, cultural, parliamentary and diplomatic fields thanks to the support of the Supreme Council for Women chaired by Wife of His Majesty the King Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa. The Information Minister congratulated Dr. Al-Jishi on the royal trust in appointing her as a Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Belgium, wishing her every success in boosting relations of friendship between both countries and projecting the positive image of Bahraini women locally, regionally and internationally. He reviewed with her ways of bolstering cooperation in the media field and informing Belgium and the European Union about the positive developments witnessed by Bahrain in democracy, human rights and women empowerment. He also discussed with her ways of wooing foreign investments and tourism. Dr. Bahia Al-Jishi thanked the Information Affairs Minister for the meeting and for his support to Bahraini women, stressing keenness to further bolster friendly relations with Belgium and the EU and project Bahrain as a model in political reform, economic freedom, human development and gender equality.
