Education Minister hails UAE-Tunisian cooperation
Abu Dhabi, Dec 30. 2008 (WAM) - UAE Minister of Education Dr. Hanif Hassan yesterday underscored the strength of cultural and education relations between the UAE and Tunisia noting the efforts of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Zein Al Abedeen Bin Ali, President of Tunisia in consolidating cultural and educational cooperation between the two countries.
Hasan called for more efforts to develop new educational systems as per the latest technologies as well as to boost development and progress all over the Arab world.
Dr. Hassan also noted to efforts by Tunisia to develop education and its plans and programs to develop the students' skills and creativity based on modern educational techniques.
Meanwhile, Hasan received a letter from Hatem Bin Salem, Minister of Education in Tunisia that was delivered by Mohammad al Sudairi, Tunisian Ambassador to the UAE.
During the meeting, Dr. Hassan, said that the visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai to Tunisia last year led to several cooperation agreements, projects and programs in various fields.
The Minister of Education said: "We encourage such common educational programs between the two countries and we are grateful to the role of all Tunisian teachers in developing education in the UAE".
Dr. Hanif Hassan chaired the 19th round of the Arab League Education, Culture and Science "ALESCO" held in Tunisia two weeks ago.
In his inaugural speech, he highlighted support extended by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai and Members of the Supreme Council to ALESCO's activities and initiatives.
