120 Africans held in Hajjah trying to enter kingdom
HAJJAH, Dec. 27 (Saba) -Dozens of Africans were held in the Midy area in Hajjah
province while trying to enter Saudi lands, head of the Coastguards Ali Ahmed Rasi
has said.
Coastguard patrols in the area seized 120 Eritrean nationals and Ethiopians
including seven women attempting to infiltrate Saudi Arabia through the Yemeni
border, Rasi was quoted by the state-run 26sep.net as saying.
The arrested were transferred to the western province of Hudaida and handed over to
relevant authorities to take legal procedures against them.
Yemen receives, almost daily, many African refugees most of whom are Somalis fleeing
civil conflict and deteriorating humanitarian situation.
Latest figures showed that almost 1 million Somalis have arrived in Yemen.
