Iran urges China to send envoy to Gaza

Beijing, Dec 29, IRNA Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia- Pacific affairs called for
China on Monday to dispatch a special envoy to Palestine to review the
alarming situation and the war crimes being committed by Israeli
leaders in Gaza.

Condemning the Israeli massive air strikes on densely populated Gaza
Strip for a third day running, Akhoundzadeh said that unprecedented
crimes against humanity have occurred during the past two days in Gaza.

"The justice-seeking and peace-loving countries of world are shocked
by Israeli barbaric crimes in Gaza," he said in his meeting with
Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.

Akhoundzadeh referred to the world financial crisis as an extra-
regional plight that could not hurt Iran.

Mentioning sanctions imposed on Iran during the past three decades by
foreign powers, the Iranian official said that the Islamic Republic of
Iran has changed the sanctions to the opportunities and bolstered the
country's national unity.

Iran has called on International Criminal Court to bring to justice
the Israeli leaders for the war crimes they perpetrated in Gaza over
the past two years and the crimes against humanity for the third day
running.
