Public Security Chief inspects Muharraq blast Site

Manama, Aug.25 (BNA): The Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan today inspected the scene of the terrorist blast that occurred yesterday near Abdurrahman Al Nasser School in Muharraq. The explosion happened while police were disposing another suspicious device. No injuries or damages were reported. The Chief said that an investigation was immediately launched to identify those responsible. He stated that those who commit crimes of this sort, that attempt to terrorise innocent people and disrupt public order, will face the full weight of the law in court. The Chief called upon anyone with information concerning the blast to go to the nearest police directorate or station or call 80008008. He stressed the importance of citizens acting as the eyes and ears of the police and reminded people that the police alone cannot defeat terrorist. The Chief ordered a greater deployment of police resources in the area, including security checkpoints in some areas to protect the safety of citizens and residents. He reiterated that the police force is fully committed to its mission to provide a stable and safe environment for all residents and businesses in Bahrain. The Chief was joined during his inspection of the crime scene by the General Director of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, the General Director of Muharraq Governorate Police and other officers.
