Iraqi President receives UAE Ambassador
Baghdad, Dec. 29, 2008 (WAM) -- Iraqi President, Jalal Talabani, received at the Al-Salam Palace here yesterday UAE Ambassador, Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Zawi Al-Shehhi, who conveyed to him, during the meeting, greetings from President H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and reiterated the UAE's support for the Iraqi government.
President Talabani, expressed profound happiness for the reopening of the UAE embassy in Baghdad and stressed the need for strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries. He also reiterated the need for UAE investment companies to get proactively involved in the reconstruction of Iraq.
Presidential Court Chief, Naseer Al-Ani and Director of the Office of the Iraqi President, Nizar Mohammed Saeed, were present at the meeting.
