UN: Immigrants Fleeing Violence In Iraq, Syria And Other Countries Arrived To Serbia

BAGHDAD / NINA / High Commission for Refugees, of the United Nations announced that the immigrants fleeing from violence in Iraq and Syria and other countries arrived to Serbia after waiting for several days in Macedonia. The commission said in a statement that thousands of migrants, mostly from Iraq and Syria, managed to enter Serbian territory after crossing Greece and Macedonia, saying it had obtained commitments from Macedonia not to close the border in the face of immigrants. The number of refugees from Iraq, Syria and Libya to the EU recently increased because of increasing violence and the lack of hope to end it. Austrian Foreign Minister, Bastian Curtis called on the EU states to work to create a safe protection and buffer zones in areas of conflict in the Middle East and Africa to curb the flow of refugees. / End
