Trio UK students for sports medicine course
Manama, Aug.23 (BNA): Three students from the United Kingdom’s Bradford University arrived in Bahrain to attend a training course at the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s National Sports Medicine Centre. Amir Khan, Idris Ali and Mohammed Jaleel started to engage in this three-week course, which is a complementary to their graduation requirements in their last academic year, and reflects the good reputation of the centre at the regional and international level.
Sports Medicine Centre director Dr. Khalid Al Shaikh said he was pleased for the great confidence enjoyed by his centre thanks to its qualified medical staff who are of a high standards. He also noted the availability of modern medical equipment as the centre emerged as a popular destination for students wishing to become specialize in the field of sports medicine, more specifically physiotherapy.
Al Shaikh said that it is the first time that Bradford University sends its students for the centre, which would be a great start of a fruitful cooperation between the university and the Bahrain Olympic Committee. The Bahrain Olympic Committee is seeking to make the National Sports Medicine Centre as one of the best facilities in Bahrain and the region through a number of initiatives, such as electronic system for appointments, a medical examination laboratory, attracting the best physiotherapists in the world and providing the best treatment and rehabilitation levels.
