Yemen, UNDP to establish system for reducing tsunami risk

MAHRAH, Dec. 28 (Saba) - United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
and Interior Ministry are to establish a system to reduce the
tsunami risks in coastal districts of Mahrah province.

During his meeting with the Mahrah governor Ali Khawdam, the team
leader of the Disaster Management Unit at the Civil Defense
Authority and UNDP Mohammed al-Shab'an pointed out that the team
will pay field visits to get acquainted with the nature of the
districts in Mahrah governorate.

Khawdam affirmed readiness of the local authority to provide all
facilities to complete the team's task.
