Bilharzias eradication campaign launched in five governorates

Governorates, Dec. 28 (Saba) - The fourth phase of the national
campaign to eradicate schistosomiasis (also known as Bilharzias)
launched on Sunday in a number of Yemeni governorates.

The campaign is organized by Ministry of Public Health and
Population to be carried out 28 - 31 December.

It targets 405,849 children in the age group from 6 to 18 years in
17 districts at the governorates of Taiz, Hadramout, Hajjah, Amran,
and Dhamar.

The children will also be provided with anti-parasite drug and
"Albendazole" the anti-intestinal worm drug transmitted through the
soil such as Alascars and Hookworms.
