Minister meets travel, tourism business executives

Manama, Aug. 13 (BNA): Minister of Industry and Commerce, Zayed bin Rashid Al-Zayani, met Vice President of Inchcape Shipping, Grant Holmes, and Cruise Manager of Dnata Travel, Jasem Zaiton, who briefed the minister about AIDA stella Ship that added to the ships list coming to the Kingdom of Bahrain during the season of 2015 and 2016. In this context, the minister said: "Government’s effort to develop tourist facilities will contribute undoubtedly to advance this sector. The Kingdom of Bahrain enjoys legacy of civilization and heritage that attracts visitors from all over the world." The minister added that the visit of AIDA stella to the Kingdom of Bahrain demonstrates the importance of Bahrain’s position on the global agenda for tourism, praising the role carried out by the Tourism Authority in enhancing cooperation with many international companies to enrich this season. AIDA stella considered one of the world’s most important ship visiting the area for the first time, and likely to start 16 trips to the Kingdom of Bahrain at the rate of 2700 tourist and will achieve a significant increase during the coming season during November 2015-March 2015. The number of tourist during 2013-2014 season is 37622 and 2014-2014 season witness a remarkable increase amounted 61179 tourist, an increase of 64%.
