Labour issues in Bahrain discussed

Manama, Aug. 12 (BNA): Prime Minister’s Court President Shaikh Hussam bin Isa Al Khalifa received today President of Bahrain Free Labour Unions Federation (BFLUF) Yaqoob Yousef Mohammed and discussed with him the government’s efforts to support workers and preserve their gains as well as the federation’s activities in the future. Shaikh Hussam stressed the government’s support and respect to the labour force in Bahrain to continue their national role in the comprehensive development process. He also pointed out the need for labour participation in regional and international events to reflect the climate of freedom and pluralism enjoyed by the workers in Bahrain and highlight the bright image of the kingdom as a pioneering country in the region at the labour and trade unionism level. On his part, the BFLUF President thanked the government for its support to the labour movement which contributed to improving their living conditions and boosting their professional capabilities. He also stressed the federation’s continuous work to improve the workers’ conditions and preserve their achievements.
