BCCI hosts Business Roundup

Manama, Aug. 6 (BNA): The SME Development and Support Centre and in coordination with the Food and Agriculture Committee headed by executive committee member Khalid Al Amin, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) hosted its Business Roundup on Thursday, July 30.
In the presence of a large number of participants, the event focused on the food and agriculture sector hosted both Mondelez (Kraft) and Awal Food Factories, which exhibited investment and potential partnership opportunities in their companies in various areas including the supply of food ingredients including milk, flour, flavors, oil; and food packaging, storing, and distribution.
The event included a symposium which gathered Bahrain Economic Development Board, Ministry of Health, and Customs Affairs of Ministry of Interior with the business owners and entrepreneurs from the sector.
The symposium discussed important topics in the sector including food security, the requirements and regulations for businesses in the sector, the inspection of food products and other related topics.
Coinciding with the symposium was a mini-exhibition was held in the lobby of the Chamber, wherein participants from the sector exhibited their products and services alongside Tamkeen, Bahrain Development Bank, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization(UNIDO) and in the presence of Sh. Mohammed bin Issa Al Khalifa Chairman of Tamkeen, First and second vice-chairman to the Chamber Othman Alrayes and Jawad Al Hawaj respectively, Isa Alrefaei Treasurer, and a large number of entrepreneurs.
The BCCI CEO Nabeel Al Mahmood praised the participants and attributed the success of the event to the participants and the organizers. He also emphasized the role of the Chamber’s SME Development and Support Centre in promoting and supporting entrepreneurship, and its contribution to the private sector and the national economy.
