HRH Premier vows zero tolerance of terrorism

Manama, July 28 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa asserted that terrorism will only boost the Bahraini people’s strength and determination to continue the national march of development. He was speaking as he received at Gudaibiya Palace today citizens, religious clerics, businessmen and businesswomen, writers, journalists and intellectuals. HRH the Prime Minister said history proved that the will of people and aspirations for progress and prosperity are more powerful than terrorism which deprive people of their right to live. HRH the Prime Minister paid tribute to the Bahraini people for their patriotic stance which has always foiled foreign attempts to interfere in the kingdom’s internal affairs and represented the most important deterrent to those trying to undermine Bahrain’s image and shake its security and stability. HRH the Premier reiterated categorical rejection of foreign interference, expressing deep regret over the martyrdom of two police officers and the injury of many others in the terror blast which occurred in Sitra today morning. He vowed zero tolerance of plotters and perpetrators of such terror acts which aim to destroy the kingdom’s hard-won gains. HRH the Prime Minister discussed with the audience the overall local and international situation, underlining the importance of such meetings in fostering unity among the Bahraini people. He added "serving Bahrain and the Bahrainis has always been a top priority," noting that attempts to incite sedition and jeopardise the kingdom’s security and stability with terror acts will never weaken efforts to carry out development schemes. "Bahrain faced many crises and challenges which targeted its security, stability and sovereignty but could emerge stronger and was able to bring about many achievements to its people which won the appreciation of the whole world," HRH the Premier said, lauding the role of journalists, media persons and writers in defending the nation. He also criticised some international newspapers for carrying out a special agenda and supporting policies aimed at spreading sedition and destabilising countries. HRH the Prime Minister pointed out foreign attempts to disrupt the development march in the GCC countries by inciting divide and sedition. He expressed confidence in the ability of the GCC leaders to overcome challenges and continue serving their nations and people. He called for more unity to thwart attempts to drag the GCC countries into wars and internal conflicts and distract them from development. The audience thanked HRH the Premier for his support and open-door policy, reiterating allegiance to the nation and leadership. They also underscored their unwavering stance rejecting the Iranian interference in Bahrain’s internal affairs and vowing to defend Bahrain from all attempts to shake its security and stability.
