BAGHDAD / NINA / British Defense Minister Michael Fillon said his country is involved for a long war with the terrorist organization Daash, based on US Secretary of State John Kerry's remarks that the operations will take between two to three years.
He, in a press statements in response to a question on whether Turkey has agreed to use its air bases in the international campaign against Daash versus creating a buffer zone inside Syria, said "The answer is not yes or no, we know the Turks have offered previously, but militarily speaking, I did not think Syria can be divided into different areas. What is important is defeating Daash in the north of Syria. "
He explained that "Turkey's proposal to find a buffer zone in Syria is not something new, but I think it is necessary not to think about creating buffer zones in Syria, because we have Daash as an enemy in various bases, centers and methods of supplies, which requires to focus on in the raids rather than focusing on searching for buffer zones in different parts of Syria. "
With regard to the war on Daash and how long it will take, the British minister said: "We are there for a long time, as the minister Kerry said that these operations will continue for two to three years, and we are carrying out strikes in Iraq since a year and stand shoulder to shoulder with the United States of America and the rest of the coalition's countries. "
He added: "one-third of aerial surveillance missions over Iraq and Syria, which aim to gather intelligence, use British aircraft, and we will send 125 trainers next month to support the training efforts of Iraqi forces, all because Daash poses a real threat to us in Western Europe, specifically the streets of Britain" ./ End
