Arab Family Day ends activities
SANA'A, Dec. 25 (Saba) -150 participants in the scientific symposium
about marriage and partnership responsibilities have recommended the
necessity of the government to issue national laws relating to
taking medical checkups before marriage to achieve mental, body,
psychological health components and preserve children from diseases,
and to set-up a specialized fund to finance these procedures.
On the end of the symposium which concluded on Thursday its
activities in Sana'a within the Arab Family Day celebration
activities, the participants urged governments to support
legislative structure and carry out legal amendments for some
definition and articles concerning Arab family subjects, especially
personal status and family courts laws to guarantee essential basics
of preserving stability and good life for the family.
The participants, from 12 Arab countries, also urged mass media to
shoulder their responsibilities to shed light on some family issues,
especially early marriage issues and understanding rights and duties
of the husband and wife.
On the conclusion, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Amat
al-Razaq Humad pointed out to the importance of holding Arab
meetings and exchanging viewpoints and experiences among
participants from governmental and civil society organizations and
private sector sides to advance Arab family.
