Crown Prince attends Royal Guard Ramadan sports activities

Manama, July 2 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister this evening attended the closing ceremony of the Royal Guard’s Ramadan sports activities, held under the Crown Prince’s patronage, at the Royal Guard headquarters. HRH Crown Prince was welcomed by the Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Theyab bin Sager Al-Noaimi, Royal Guard Commander, Brigadier Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Royal Guard Special Force Commander, HH Major Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and a number of senior Royal Guard officers. During the event, HRH Crown Prince praised the Bahrain Defence Force’s (BDF) achievements under the leadership of the Supreme Commander, His Majesty the King, and noted the BDF’s ability to respond to issues effectively and with promptness. He further noted that the BDF plays a vital role in upholding safety and security within the Kingdom of Bahrain. HRH Crown Prince commended the Royal Guard Commander's efforts in modernising and developing the unit. In this regard, he noted the development of activities linked to fitness training, which form a part of Ramadan activities, and involves widespread Royal Guard participation. He expressed his gratitude to the Royal Guard Commander, officers, and soldiers for their performance of national duties. His Royal Highness went on to note the success of the BDF in regional and global sporting events, and highlighted how this has enhanced the Kingdom’s standing. The Royal Guard Commander also gave a speech at the event. The Commander welcomed HRH Crown Prince and expressed his appreciation for His Royal Highness’ patronage of the event. At the end of the competitions, His Royal Highness handed out prizes to the winners and expressed well wishes. The Royal Guard Commander then presented His Royal Highness with a memorial gift. His Highness Lieutenant Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, son of his Royal Highness the Crown Prince, attended the ceremony.
