Interfaith Prayer for Peace on Wednesday

Manama, June 29 (BNA): An interfaith Prayer for Peace will be held on Wednesday evening at the Sacred Heart Church in Manama, Bahrain. The Bahrain Federation of Expatriate Associations (BFEA) is organizing the event under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. Bahrainis and residents hailing from all the religious spectrum will converge on the church in Manama to pray for peace marking the holy month of Ramadan. BFEA Secretary-General Betsy Mathieson expressed delight and pride at holding the Prayer for Peace under the patronage of HM the King following a royal initiative which reflects the degree of cohesion and peaceful co-existence between all religions in Bahrain during the holy month of Ramadan. The Prayer for Peace will be held at the Sacred Heart Church in Manama which embraces in its intertwined neighbourhoods various worshipping venues. Mathieson hailed the royal patronage which reflects HM the King’s keen interest in consolidating religious liberties despite the mounting challenges facing the religion due to terrorist organisations such as Daesh. She paid tribute to HM the King for taking this brave and wise initiative that won praise from the expatriate communities which hail their freedom to exercise their religious liberties in a secure and safe environment in Bahrain. "We are still under the shock in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks which hit Kuwait, Tunisia and France", she said, pointing out the interfaith gathering at the Sacred Heart Church will pray for those who died or sustained injuries in the terrorist attacks, as well as their bereaved families and friends, wishing them all forbearance to overcome the tragedies which plunged them into deep grief. Mathieson extended thanks to the Sacred Heart Church in Manama for hosting the Prayer for Peace. BEFA is organized the event as part of the fourth edition of "This is Bahrain", which concluded in Paris, France, in mid- June.
