Samsung Engineering wins US$1.4 bln order from India

SEOUL, Dec. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's top plant builder Samsung Engineering
Co. said Wednesday a consortium led by it signed a US$1.4 billion deal to build
an ethylene plant in western India.
The consortium will construct the plant in Gujarat Province by July 2012 under
the deal with ONGC Petro Additions Ltd., a unit of Indian state-run oil company
Oil & Natural Gas Corp., Samsung Engineering said in a regulatory filing.
The plant will have an annual capacity of 1.1 million tons of ethylene and
340,000 tons of propylene, Samsung Engineering said.
The other member of the consortium is Linde AG, a German industrial plant
builder, it said.
