Shura strongly condemns terror blast in Kuwait

Manama, June 26 (BNA): The Shura Council has strongly denounced the terror blast which hit Al-Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque in Al-Sawaber neighborhood in Kuwait city during the Friday prayers, killing worshippers and wounding many others.
The council stressed that such a heinous crime that violated the inviolability of human blood and targeted houses of worship during blessed Friday prayers is condemned by all divine religions and human norms.
In a statement issued today, the Shura Council extended sincere condolences and consolation to the Kuwaiti leadership, government and people, praying Allah Almighty to rest the souls of the martyrs in eternal peace and grant the injured speedy recovery.
Such a criminal act, which contravenes the tolerant precepts of Islam, bears the hallmark of rejected and irresponsible terror attacks targeting innocent lives, the statement said.
It is also a failed attempt to stir up sectarian strife, the council added, stressing that the act reveals the extent of the bankruptcy of the extremist ideology which used violence, murder and explosion as an approach.
The Shura Council reiterated its support to all measures to be taken by the State of Kuwait to combat terrorist attacks aimed at subverting civic peace and undermining security and stability.
It also expressed confidence that such a criminal terror act will not affect the Kuwaiti people’s cohesion and rallying behind its leadership.
The Shura Council wished brotherly Kuwait lasting security and stability.
