HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman attends BDF Quran competition

Manama, June 24 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, son of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, today attended the closing ceremony of the 25th Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) memorisation and recitation of the Holy Qur’an and knowledge of Islamic Sciences competition, held under his patronage, at the Royal Special Forces headquarters at Hamala. Upon arriving at the ceremony, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed was welcomed by the BDF Assistant Chief of Staff for Human Resources, Major General Shaikh Ali bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the Commander of the Royal Bahraini Air Force, Major General Shaikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Director of Religious Guidance, Brigadier Ahmed Abdullah Al Humaidan, Commander of the Royal Special Forces, Brigadier Isa Mohammed Al Rumaihi and a number of senior BDF officers. During the ceremony, His Highness praised the BDF’s continued efforts in organising this annual competition, which encourages members of the BDF to compete in memorising and reciting the Holy Qur’an during the holy month of Ramadan. His Highness went on to express his appreciation to the BDF’s Directorate of Religious Guidance for their organisation of the annual event. He further noted the outstanding levels of proficiency in memorising and reciting the holy verses of the Qur’an, and praised the commitment of the individuals who participated in the ceremony. His Highness then congratulated the winners, and expressed his best wishes for the future success of the event in years to come. The ceremony opened with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, which was followed by speeches by Brigadier Al-Humaidan and by Lt-Colonel Eng. Al-Jowder, in which they both welcomed His Highness and extended their appreciation and gratitude for His Highness’ sponsorship of the ceremony. They also passed on their sincere thanks to the General Command of the BDF for its continued support and its commitment to sustaining the success of the competition over 25 years. The speeches further urged attendees to adhere to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah in their daily lives. His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa then honoured the panel of judges, and distributed certificates and awards to participants in the competition.
