HRH Premier's directives lauded by Health minister

Manama, June 23 (BNA): The directives issued by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa’s during the weekly cabinet session regarding the pre-emptive and precautionary measures to be undertaken by the Ministry of Health to face some of the diseases that have emerged in some countries, including the corona virus, have been lauded by Health Minister Sadiq bin Abdul Kareem Al-Shehabi The minister affirmed that the directives of HRH the Prime Minister and the leadership’s support enhanced the ministry’s readiness and ability to prevent the spread of epidemics, which threaten individuals’ health and safety. He asserted that the keenness of HRH the Prime Minister on upgrading the readiness of hospitals and health centres in the Kingdom of Bahrain to face any potential risks embodies the government’s interest in ensuring an environment free of infectious diseases. The government intensified preventive measures and followed precautionary guidelines issued by World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Centres for Disease Control in Western countries, as well as following the Executive Board of Health Ministers’ Council for GCC states’ recommendations. He stressed that the ministry continues to strengthen its preventive procedures, adding that the ministry has formed an integrated medical team in charge of putting forward a strategy to confront the Corona virus in the Kingdom. The minister asserted that there are no cases of Corona virus in the Kingdom of Bahrain, adding that 1245 samples from all age groups and public and private hospitals were tested, and all were negative.
