SCW Coordination committee convenes

Manama, June 19 (BNA): The Cooperation Committee between the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and Women's Societies and Committees has convened at the SCW premises under the chairmanship of the Assistant SCW Secretary-General Dhawiya Sayed Sharaf Al-Alawi.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation between all sides.
Al-Alawi highlighted the importance of developing the existing cooperation between the SCW and women societies and committees as the best means to achieve the ultimate goal of empowering Bahraini women and advancing them in all fields.
The panel discussed the progress of the implementation of the Social Communication and other events launched by the SCW in collaboration with women societies and committees, as well as the field visits to women and men Majlises, youth associations and centres and public and private schools.
The meeting also discussed the proposal of the Executive Committee of the Cooperation Committee on holding the "Exhibition of the Women Societies and Committees" next October for the aim of raising awareness on and promoting their efforts in the field of women, highlighting successful development projects and encouraging females to join voluntary work in women-related fields.
The role of civil society institutions in raising awareness on the services of the Family Reconciliation and Alimony Fund Office, as well as the services provided by the SCW regarding free legal, social and psychological consultations and cordial settlement of domestic conflicts were also spotlighted.
The committee also allocated part of the meeting to discuss the role of civil society institutions in implementing the National Model for Integrating Women’s Needs.
Cooperation between the SCW and women societies and committee in implementing the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women (2015-20180) regarding family stability, the role of women in social co-existence, highlighting the success stories of women voluntary work pioneers and preparation of an awareness-raising programmes on women’s leading role in social co-existence.
The meeting also reviewed the SCW’s Secretariat-General on the Bahraini Women’s Day 2015, which is "Women in the Financial and Banking Sector", aiming to shed light on the situation of Bahraini women in this vital sector, as well as the challenges facing them.
A number of events, activities and statistics conducted in collaboration with the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB), visits to financial and banking firms and workshops, as well as future events were also discussed during the meeting.
