House Speaker Meets UN Secretary-General

BAGHDAD / NINA / The head of the House of Representatives, Salem al-Jubouri confirmed that "the people of the occupied cities and the Iraqi army are ready for a military confrontation with the ISIS (Daash)". The spokesman of the House Speaker, Imad al-Khafaji quoted al-Jubouri as saying during an expanded meeting with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at UN headquarters in New York that "the recent developments , after the entry of ISIS to important parts of Anbar, are serious and Iraq is preparing through sons of the occupied cities and the Iraqi army for military confrontation with ISIS "noting that" despite the sacrifices of the army, the tribes, PDF and Peshmerga, but Iraq remains in need for the international support because Iraq is not defending its own land only, but for all humanity. " Jubouri agreed with the general secretary of the United Nations that "the approval of the Council of Ministers of the law of amnesty is step in the right direction and a good sign to fulfill the government of Abadi to its obligations." Jubouri drew attention to the issue of Iraqi displaced and the importance of supporting them to prevent them from becoming a tool of the ISIS.
