All set for Nasser 8 Basketball Championship

Manama, June 13 (BNA): The supreme organising committee of the first Nasser bin Hamad Sports Games and the eighth edition of Nasser bin Hamad Football Championship (Nasser 8) announced the completion of the preparatory procedures of the basketball tournament, which kicks off on the 25th of June.
Participating in the tournament will be six teams, including Manama Club, Al Ahli Club, Al Najma Club, Al Hala Club, Muharraq Club and VIP Team. The teams were divided on two groups, Group A where Manama, Al Najma and Muharraq play, while playing in Group B will be Al Ahli, Al Hala and VIP.
Two matches will be held on the first beteen Manama and Muharraq and Al Ahli and Al Hala. The final match will be held on the first of July at 9pm.
Bahrain Basketball Association, headed by Adel Al Assoomy announced that they are keen on making the first basketball tournament in Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games a success. Bahrain Basketball Association General Secretary Abdulhassan Al Hayki said the championship is an opportunity for players to practice during the Holy Month of Ramadan, which is usually a slow month for basketball sports in Bahrain. At the same time, he said Nasser 8 will be a good occasion to discover new national basketball talents.
Hawar Seasons Services support hails
HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee appreciated Hawar Seasons Services for supporting the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and the eighth Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 8).
HH Shaikh Nasser highlighted that the sponsorship of Hawar Seasons Services is a new gain to the championship and will contribute in bringing out a successful sports festival.
On his part, Hawar Seasons Services Director Hussain Al Sakran affirmed that it’s part of the company’s policy to support social, youth and sports activities.
He said supporting the championship came as Hawar Seasons Services believes that Nasser 8 has good popularity among the youth and sports enthusiasts, especially that it comes in the eighth version with multiple sports in addition to football.
Al Sakran hailed HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for patronising sports events, which attract the youth and contribute in promoting the culture of sports among them.
Al-Zilzal dodges Ahlam Batelco out of the competition
Al Zilzal football team officially qualified yesterday to the next rounds of the first Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Sports Games and the eighth edition of Nasser bin Hamad Ramadan Football Championship (Nasser 8) after winning Ahlam Batelco 4-1 on the field of Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town.
The first half of the match ended with a 1-1 tie. The first goal was for Al Zilzal by Mohammed Saleh Al Helali at the sixth minute. Football Pro Hesham Mansoor scored the only goal for Ahlam Batelco at the 29th minute.
Three minutes after the beginning of the second half Lebanese player Rawwad Ragheb scored the second goal for Al Zilzal, while his teammates Abdulrahman Abdulla and Syrian Deeb scored the third and fourth goals at the 64th and 71st minutes.
Al Zilzal holds 6 points now, topping Group B, while Ahlam Batelco exits the tournament with no points.
