House Speaker Meets Chairman of The Foreign Affairs Committee In The US Senate

BAGHDAD / NINA / House Speaker Salim al-Jubouri discussed with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the US Senate, Mitch McConnell in the presence of Senator John McCain, developments the security and political situation in Iraq and support the coalition forces to Iraqi forces in the fight against terrorist groups, led by ISIS (Daash).
A statement for Jubouri's Office said that "the people of occupied areas have the desire to liberate their lands, which they must be given the honor of confrontation with ISIS through training and arming," adding that "Daash do not threaten Iraq alone, but the region and the world and Iraq is fighting on behalf of mankind and the international community must support and stand with it. "
About the situation of displaced people and their suffering, Jubouri asked the international community "more aid for the Iraqi people to soften the pain as a result of the war, and work on the reconstruction of their cities destroyed by terrorism."
For his part, Senator McConnell confirmed his support to the democratic system and the current political process in Iraq," stressing "the determination of the United States to support Iraq at all levels."
After the meeting, al-Jubouri, was escorted by Senator McCain in a tour in the halls of the US Senate and briefed him on the progress of the legislative and regulatory process in the Senate and the Parliament hall.
Jubouri met yesterday the US President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden in a meeting lasted several hours and discussed with them armament file, national reconciliation and re-displaced to the liberated areas./ End
