GCC ministers adopt Bahrain's proposal

Doha, June 11 (BNA): The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) ministers of information have approved Bahrain's proposal to enhance joint media action at the international level.
The proposal aims at uplifting the effectiveness of joint action by taking the initiative to confront provocative campaigns against the GCC member states and by boosting coordination in case of emergency.

The ministers agreed to assign a specialized team tasked with developing the required vision no later than one month from the date of this meeting. The GCC Secretariat shall circulate the vision to the information ministers for approval before it is submitted to the Ministerial Council meeting next September.
The ministers expressed appreciation of the efforts of the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) to develop "This is the Arabian Gulf" radio station to keep with the developments taking place in the Gulf.
The GCC is made up of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
