Finance Minister participates in IDB annual meetings

Manama, June 10 (BNA): Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmad bin Mohammad Al Khalifa is currently participating in the annual meetings of the Board of Governors of Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB), being held in the Republic of Mozambique on 10-11 June 2015. A number of topics to be discussed during the meetings, including the IDB's 10-year strategy and following up the implementation of the key initiatives of the aforementioned strategy on enhancing performance, governance, boosting organizational and operational effectiveness and ensuring financial sustainability. In addition to supporting the IDB's role in the development of the financial services industry. IDB comprises 56 member states and has been in business since October 1975. It performs its role in promoting the process of economic and social development in all member states, as well as in the Islamic non-member states in line with the Islamic Sharia. Its future goal is to be a global development bank by 2020.
