Indonesian Film Festival to start tomorrow

Manama, May.7(BNA): The Indonesian Film Festival will open tomorrow (June8) and run until June 11 at the Bahrain National Museum. The four-day festival is aimed at promoting Indonesia, its people, picturesque nature, local traditions and social life through movies, which will be shown daily from 07:00 PM.
The festival will open with the screening of "Soekarno", a film that commemorates Indonesia’s first president whose immortal words declared Indonesia as a new, free nation emerging from the destruction and chaos of World War II. But to many Indonesians, Soekarno is also remembered as a man of action who disliked being dependent on any party. Through their dialogues, members of the audience see the fate of the Indonesian nation state over decades of its history.
"OMAR’S 28 DAYS IN INDONESIA" will be screened on Tuesday (June9). The movie recounts the story of Omar Farooq, who’s joining Learning, Enrichment and Acceleration Program(LEAP) program from Association internationale des étudiants en sciences économiques et commerciales (AIESEC) to visit Indonesia for 28 days.
In his film, Omar recounts his valuable experiences on his visit to Indonesia. Omar is going to attend the film screening and give a presentation after the film. The third film "ERAU KOTA RAJA" will be screened on Wednesday (June 10). Kirana is a journalist assigned to cover the Traditional Erau Festival in Tenggarong.
When reporting, Kirana meets a local guy named Reza and she begins to fall for him. However, their love is rejected by Reza’s mother, who does everything possible to expel Kirana from the village and keep the two apart.
The curtain will fall on the Indonesian Film Festival with the screening of the "Soekarno" on Thursday (June 11).
