Deputy Premier meets award laureate

Manama, June 3 (BNA): Deputy Premier Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa today received winner of the second edition of the Isa Award for Service to Humanity Prof. Achyuta Samanta, from Odisha, India. The Deputy Premier, also Isa Award for Service to Humanity Board of Trustees' Chairman, congratulated Prof. Samanta on winning the 2013-2015. Prize. He hailed the crucial role of Prof. Samanta in providing learning opportunities for poor people and changing the lives of millions of people through education, citing the founding of the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences. Prof. Samanta thanked the Deputy Premier for his efforts to ensure the Isa Award for Service to Humanity achieves its goals –acknowledging those who dedicate their lives to serving humanity. He hailed the award as an accolade which will encourage him to exert more efforts to improve the lives of people through equal educational opportunities, paying tribute to late Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al-Khalifa.
