Syria urges Iran to make joint film on 33-day war
Damascus, Dec 22, IRNA - Syrian Minister of Culture Riyadh Nassan Agha called for production of
a joint Iran-Syria film on 33-day war and resistance of the Lebanese
against the Zionist regime.
In a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Hossien
Saffar-Harandi, he said that the film will be an eternal work of art.
Harandi, for his part, welcomed the proposal and called on him to
select a Syrian filmmaker to visit Iran to this end.
He also urged translation of Persian books into Arabic and vice versa.
Stating that religious and cultural commonalties are keys to the two
nations' bonds, Harandi also said that when communications are based
on historical background, they can hardly be damaged.
Nassan also underlined the need for translation of Persian and Arabic
works and for production of joint films to introduce the two
countries' cultures.
Harandi left Tehran for Damascus on Friday to attend Iran-Syria
cultural week and is to return home on Tuseday.
