Deputy Premier to attend Sudanese President inauguration

Manama, June 1 (BNA): Deputised by His Majesty the King, Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa left for the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, at an invitation received by HM the King to take part in the inauguration of Omar Hassan Al-Beshir as President of Sudan. Prior to his departure, at a meeting at Bahrain International Airport VIP Lounge with the Sudanese embassy Charge D'Affaires Essam Idris, the Deputy Premier expressed hope Sudan would witness more growth and stability under the leadership of President Al-Beshir in order to continue its pivotal role at the Arab and African level. He lauded strong bilateral relations and growing cooperation between both countries, mainly in the trade and economic fields. Field Marshal Omar Hassan Al Beshir won a new presidential term in the presidential elections held last April. Khartoum started early this week receiving dignitaries to take part in the inauguration ceremony set to be held tomorrow at the National Assembly headquarters.
