Iran-Japan ties excellent
Tokyo, Dec 22, IRNA - An official with Japanese Foreign Ministry said that Iran-Japan ties are excellent in different fields.
Speaking to IRNA, deputy director of Japanese Foreign Ministry's
Middle East Office referred to the 50th anniversary of implementation
of Iran-Japan cultural cooperation and said that bilateral ties are
not limited to the past 50 years; rather they go back to 1,500 years
ago.
Referring to the active presence of Japanese instructors and students
in the ceremony marking the anniversary of implementation of
Iran-Japan cooperation agreement on Saturday, he said this shows that
after a lapse of years, Japanese citizens are still interested in
getting acquainted with Iranian culture and civilization.
Hoping that cultural exchanges will further develop between the two
nations, he said, "I am optimistic about development of cultural
ooperation between the two sides because bilateral ties are solid."
Despite the sensitivities surrounding Iran's nuclear case, Japan has
maintained its ties with Iran, Kagawa noted.
The ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of implementation of
Iran-Japan cultural cooperation was attended by Iran's Ambassador to
the country, Abbas Araqchi.
