Maryam Al Roumi taking part in the Arab ministers of social affairs conference
Dubai, Dec 22, 2008 (WAM) - UAE Minister of social affairs HE Maryam Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi is participating in the 28th conference of the Council of Arab ministers of social affairs currently under way in Sharam-al-Sheikh.
The two-day conference has embarked upon a discussion on forging a unified Arab strategy to combat family violence and abuse.
Prior to the conference, Al Roumi said that UAE will actively participate in the discussions and will present its proposals on social development issues.
The Law No. 29 is to be called ' the Law of the Rights of People with Disabilities', so as to bring its benefits for those who are disabled. The Arab League had declared 2004-2014 as the decade of the disabled, she noted.
Al Roumi said that UAE will cooperate with all the sisterly Arab countries to develop a unified Arab framework for social development.
