IFAD to implement $20 mln agricultural project in Yemen
SANA'A, Dec. 21 (Saba) - International Fund for Agriculture
Development (IFAD) will commence on February the implementation of a
large agricultural project for coffee, dates and vegetables at an
estimated cost of $15 - 20 million.
During his meeting on Sunday with Deputy Agriculture and Irrigation
Minister Abdul Malik al-Thawr, the IFAD officer in Yemen Omer Zefar
affirmed the assistance comes as a result of the successful economic
reform policy the government implements.
He added that the fund has provided $3.5 million as assistance to
enhance infrastructure projects in areas where agricultural projects
being implemented.
Al-Thawr praised IFAD assistance to Yemen in various fields.
