Ombudsman receives Turkish Ambassador

Manama, May 20 (BNA): Ombudsman Nawaf Mohammed Al Maawda met the Ambassador of Turkey to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Hatun Demirer. Al-Maawda asserted his keenness on maintaining constant communication with foreign embassies in Bahrain to familiarise them with the work and role of the Ombudsman Office in boosting human rights. He briefed the ambassador about the duties and jurisdictions of the Ombudsman in receiving complaints, monitoring reformatory and detention centres and boosting the values of human rights and humanitarian treatment of the public, including all expatriate community members in Bahrain. The Director of International Cooperation and Development in the Ombudsman Office, Ghada Hameed Habib, attended the meeting.
