Commander-in-chief receives Russian military delegation

Manama, May 19 (BNA): Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa has received here the Russian President's Personal Representative and Director of Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) Alexander Fomin and his accompanying delegation. They signed a military-technical cooperation agreement, then discussed aspects of joint cooperation in the military fields and ways to strengthen them. They reviewed matters of mutual interest and exchanged commemorative gifts. The BDF Commander-in-Chief pointed out that this visit comes within the framework of consolidating bilateral military cooperation, commending the deep-rooted ties bonding the two countries. He underscored the importance of exchanging such visits in order to promote bilateral relations, highlighting the leadership's keenness on enhancing these relations to serve the best interest of both the countries. Minister of Defence Affairs Lieutenant-General Yusuf bin Ahmed Al-Jalahma, BDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Dhiab bin Saqr Al-Nuaimi, Defence Ministry Undersecretary Major-General Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Ali Al Khalifa, Russian Ambassador to Bahrain Vagif Garaev, a number of BDF senior officers and the members of the Russian delegation were present. Minister of Defence Affairs Lieutenant-General Yusuf bin Ahmed Al-Jalahma held a luncheon banquet at BDF Officers Club in honour of the Russian President's Personal Representative and FSVTS Director and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of BDF senior officers.
