HRH Premier calls for enhancing Bahraini-Russian cooperation

Manama, May 19 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has asserted that there are wider horizons for increasing Bahraini-Russian cooperation and taking advantage of the friendship relations to consolidate areas of joint collaboration, especially in the military, technical and other fields for the sake of promoting security and stability in the region. He voiced the stances as he received here today the Russian President's Envoy, and Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation Alexander Fomin. HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that the two countries have enough means and potentials that enable them to strengthen their solid-based partnership, praising Russia's international political and economic weight, as well as military and technical capabilities and expertise that entitled to be a super power with major contributions to efforts to consolidate global peace and security. HRH Premier welcomed the visit of the Russian delegation to Bahrain, and stressed its importance in enhancing the existing joint cooperation in the economic and trade fields, in addition to the military one, affirming the need to intensify such visits. He expressed satisfaction over the steady progress of the Bahraini-Russian relations in all fields, which, he said, reflects the depth of the friendship and cooperation ties, and reflects the two countries' desire to widen areas of cooperation in order to achieve their common interests. He said that Bahrain is looking forward to availing from Russia's scientific and technical expertise in all fields. "In this region, our most and foremost concern is security and stability, and major countries, including Russia, play a key role in promoting such a security in the region, being a super power with a great influence in international politics," HRH Premier said. HRH the Prime Minister requested the Russian official to convey his greetings to President Vladimir Putin, and other Russian leaders, wishing friendly Russian further progress and prosperity. Alexander Fomin lauded HRH Premier's interest in consolidating Bahraini-Russian relations, and opening up new horizons of bilateral cooperation, He praised the Bahrain's progress and development boom and advanced infrastructure, expressing his country's desire to enhance cooperation with Bahrain in all fields, particularly the technical and military industries field.
