Bahrain swoops four Arab awards

Tunis, May 17 (BNA): Bahrain swooped four awards in the 16th edition of the Arab Festival for Radio and Television, which concluded yesterday in Hammamet, Tunisia, in the presence of senior Arab officials and artists. The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) organized the festival, which opened on May 11, in cooperation with the Tunisian Radio and Television and in partnership with the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat). Bahrain clinched the golden award in recognition of the comedy serial "Barayehna", which was produced by the Information Affairs Authority (IAA). Bahrain swooped the second award for TV flash "With Your Voice You Can". In The category of child-oriented works, Sawalef.Com won the second award. The Children's Magazine also swooped the second award in the category of variety children programmes. A total of 153 TV and 88 radio works were in the fray vying for the awards of the 16th edition of the pan-Arab festival. An IAA delegation took part in the juries which awarded the prizes.
