Iranian karatekas snatch 5 medals in Malaysia
Tehran, Dec 20, IRNA - Iranian karatekas snatched one gold, one silver and three bronze medals in the 2nd Asian KOI Karate Championships in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Saturday.
Babak Fakheri defeated his six rivals from the countries of China,
Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore and bagged the gold medal in the
competition.
Alireza Askari defeated his three rivals from India, United Arab
Emirates and Russia and clinched the silver medal.
Mohadese Safari-Fard, Parisa Faraj-Zadeh and Shaqayeq Hajari won the
bronze medals.
Iranian national karate team departed for Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
Some 700 karatekas from 22 countries are participating in the event.
The championship started on December 19 and will run until December 21.
