HRH Premier directs to promote excellence culture in schools

Manama, May 10 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has asserted that upgrading the education output and improving the quality of the learning process are among the key development pillars that the government is working on enhancing and developing in all its action plans for the sake of ensuring a more prosperous future for the coming generations. "The government is keen to adopt education strategies that prepare generations that are dedicated in the service of the nation, and are qualified to participate effectively in national work and contribute to continuing the building of the nation's progress and prosperity," he said. HRH Premier made the statements as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Minister of Education Dr. Majid bin Ali Al-Nuaimi, who introduced to him the two public schools which clinched the "HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Award for Excellence in Educational Performance". The laureates were Amna bint Wahab Primary Girls School for 2012-2013, and Al Khawarizmi Primary Boys School for 2013-2014. HRH Premier honoured the two schools which had achieved an outstanding performance over the past period. He congratulated them on winning the award, expressing pride in their distinguished performance thanks to the efforts exerted by their staff to upgrade the educational process and improve the education output. HRH the Prime Minister called on those in charge of the educational process to consolidate excellence in educational performance, and promote it as an approach on which all programmes strategies are based so that they can achieve their ultimate goal of preparing modern individuals who can shoulder the burdens of the development process in the future. "We feel proud of the outstanding level reached by education in Bahrain, thanks to the concerted efforts made for the sake of achieving the noble goals of the educational process," he said. He directed the Ministry of Education to spread the experiences of the outstanding schools across Bahraini schools so that they reach the aspired for level of excellence and creativity. The Education Minister extended, on behalf of the ministry's affiliates and those of the winning schools, sincere thanks, appreciation and gratitude to HRH Premier for his unwavering support to the Ministry of Education, and constant keenness to promote the culture of excellence among its schools. He praised HRH Premier's honouring of outstanding schools, affirming that the HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Award for Excellence in Educational Performance has contributed to bringing about many achievements at the educational and learning levels. He lauded the Prime Minister's support to all its programmes and development projects. He said that thanks to the HRH Premier's prestigious award, a total of 207 educational establishments had competed to achieve the government's strategy to enhance the quality of education, which, he said, had reflected positively on the performance of public schools. He affirmed the Education Ministry's constant keenness to implement HRH Premier's directives to ensure that education in Bahrain should keep abreast of modern developments and meet the needs of the labour market.
