Information Minister discusses cooperation with private sector

Manama, May 7 (BNA): Information Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi hailed Bahrain's pioneering achievements in providing telecommunication and Information Technology services, stressing their positive influence on developing mass media and communication means and keeping them abreast of the latest technologies to boost their competitiveness. He also discussed at a meeting with Acting Chief Executive of Batelco Group Ehab Hannawi ways of bolstering cooperation in upgrading the communication and IT infrastructure at the Information Ministry and the Information Affairs Authority. Both sides also discussed cooperation in promoting products and services via the radio and television programmes. The Information minister stressed complementarity between the media and communication sectors in serving humanity, supporting social communication, boosting awareness and free exchange of news and knowledge and promoting sustainable economic and social development.
