Shura Council hails Bahraini press

anama, May 6 (BNA): Shura Council, in a statement marking Bahrain Press Day that falls on 7 May, expressed pride in the Bahraini press role in enlightening the public opinion, sincerely conveying public concerns and aspirations, as well as the real image of Bahrain and achievements made under the prosperous reign of HM King of Bahrain. The statement hailed HM the King's call to allocate an annual day to celebrate Bahraini press, and the royal directives on establishing media cadre, as well as supporting media and press national aptitudes. It stressed support for press and opinion freedoms which are guaranteed by the constitution and law. It also highlighted support for the proposed press law that will reinforce Bahraini press role and contributions to further promoting national issues.
